ELECTRONIC CONTEMPORARY PATHS: THE EXPOSED PRIVACY

This conference addressing the contemporary gives me the opportunity to
investigate a multifaceted aspect of videoart production that has been only
partially systematized in theoretical analysis. The case study I am presenting
here focuses on the issue of exposed privacy. Although not exclusive to the
electronic arts, exposure of the privacy has been a pre-eminent thematic feature
since the outset of video art408. What I intend to do here is attempt to outline an
interpretive grid based on the possible definitions of the private, to support
systematization of the various forms it has taken in the course of the evolution
in video art.
